Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment of building a model, completing a jigsaw, or just watching something that is so lifelike moving

either at lightning speed around a race circuit, or gracefully around a railway track in amongst that carefully crafted & detailed scenery of yesteryear.

Those three words "I did that!" said with pride can really make a difference to both your confidence and wellbeing. It will give you that feeling of achievement that we probably don't always get in the daily grind of working life.

As fellow model enthusiasts we believe that everyone needs a hobby as they are both therapeutic and a welcome escape from the stresses and strains of modern life. They are also a great way to recapture your long-lost childhood or misspent youth, but only this time you have the time, patience and maturity on your side. Whatever age you are it is either never too early, or too late to start and we share that passion and enthusiasm in the products we sell.

We operate from our shop which is based in the Roman Town of Alcester, Warwickshire. We do our very best to accommodate for as many model hobbies as we can

stocking a large range of well known quality brands such as Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Corgi, Oxford Collectibles, Bachmann, Graham Farish, Peco, Scenecraft, Gaugemaster, Humbrol and Gibsons Jigsaws.

We also buy and sell and second-hand products that are looking for a loving home in someone's treasured collection.

You are more than welcome to browse our range and purchase through our website.

If you fancy a journey out to a picturesque, friendly, vibrant town with the added benefit of ample free parking then please visit us in store, where we would be more than happy to see you.

There are also many quality pubs and cafes to supplement your visit.

Matt's Story & Our Future Vision

Matt's Story

Having the feeling of wasting my youth on a games console and then regretting it, the urge was there for me to do something more fulfilling and creative as a hobby. This was to satisfy a mind that constantly needed occupying and a to lift me out of a low period in life, that I am sure everyone goes through at some time or another.

With the missing satisfaction of doing precision work in a previous toolmaking occupation and happy memories of my pre-adolescence where life just seemed wonderous, the solution to my dilemma was to recapture my long-lost childhood by revisiting my Scalextric Set and to start building Airfix Models.

Six years later, a man cave, numerous slot cars collected, and models built, I have never looked back from this and I am really proud to do my hobbies. They are to me a welcome break from the pressures of modern life and the troubles in the world.

Having long worked in the engineering industry for over 25 Years, the opportunity came along to take over an established model shop to whom I have been a loyal customer and friend to the previous owner. In 2021 there was announcement from him that he was retiring and was looking for someone who really cared to take over continue his successful legacy.

As the model hobby industry is something I have a deep passion for and care about, this was an opportunity too good to miss, so I have taken up the reins running this successful shop with an outstanding reputation.

The previous owner Steve Bainbridge believed in loyalty, honesty and to treat customers in the way he would like to be treated. These values have served him very well for many years and it these values that I personally share with him and will continue them in running my business.

To own a Model Shop to me, is not just to sell products it is much more than that, it is a way of life and a place to share my love of models with others who are either experienced or just starting out who may need some help and encouragement.

Our Future Vison

The advent of the recent Covid-19 pandemic has meant people have been spending more time at home. To cope with these difficult times, model hobbies have seen a huge resurgence and becoming ever more popular. People are experiencing the feeling of achievement and the relaxing mental health benefits that they truly bring.

This combined with the recent Hornby documentary series on the Yesterday TV Channel, we fully believe that the model hobby industry has a bright future ahead of it. The documentary demonstrated also that the industry is moving also along with the digital age, something that is now vital to its long term sustainability.

We take pride that we are a traditional looking Model Shop and we know people do find that endearing. But this is a business being driven by modern and forward thinking minds with a great respect also to the importance of long standing traditions.

We so greatly care that these traditional and wholesome hobbies are still able to endure, and that we take our responsibility seriously in contributing to the long term future of Model Shops.

We like to open up model hobbies as much as possible to all ages and to encourage people thinking about starting up just to give it a go. Even the best modelling enthusiasts started somewhere, and that perfection is not something that comes straight away. We know the disheartening feeling of new starters comparing their own work to the highly polished images in magazines and on websites. With patience and time, great things will come to you and we are there to help you achieve it.

We have created this website not just as an easy way to browse and purchase from your home, but also as an opportunity for you to get to know us and hopefully like who we are.
